Cloth Diapers

Many of you probably already know this, but Luke and I decided to cloth diaper Sean. Really it wasn't a tough decision- there are environmental reasons, financial reasons, and the fact that his little tush is just too cute in his bright colored clothies :) After doing some research I also discovered how easy cloth diapering is. Gone are the days of diaper pins, crunchy plastic covers and toilet dunking.
Anyway- we mostly use a brand called BumGenius and also have a few GroBabies. I get a chance to try out new kinds through a cloth diapering blog that actually gives away cloth diapers every Friday in their "Feed Your Stash Friday" giveaway. If you are interested in cloth diapering check it out. Also, I ordered all my diapers from www.softclothbunz.com. Not only are they are great website with lots of info, they are also a local VA compay :)

Tummy Time Part Duex

This he liked a little better. Probably has something to do with the nakedness. Doesn't everyone really prefer nakedness?

Tummy Time

Usually Sean loves chillin on his tummy. It's pretty much his favorite thing. Maybe not this time.

First Carousel Ride

Sean slept through the whole thing. But it was just trilling for me!

Real Men Have Back Hair

Sean was slightly furry when he was born. I hope the picture shows it.

Sean comes home!

So, after a few days, minor respiratory distress, IV fluids, antibiotics, and some time under the lights we finally convinced the hospital that Sean would not break if we took him home. Woo Hoo!!!

Sean In The Hospital

Sean was born on Mother's Day, May 10, 2009 at 3:16pm. He was a solid 7lbs 9.2 oz and 20 1/4 inches long. Start to finish he took about 36 hours to be born! Thirty-six LONG, UNCOMFORTABLE hours. Mom didn't like it, baby didn't like it. When he was born my first words were "He is HUGE!!!" I just couldn't believe that was the creature kicking me in the ribs and hiccuping every night as I tried to sleep. The doctor corrected me immediately and said "No, he isn't." Well, thank you very much, he seemed huge to me.
Sean was perfectly healthy, but had some "normal" issues that kept him in the hospital a few extra days. Here are some hospital pics :)
