We are so excited to celebrate Sean's first Christmas! I'm almost done with his stocking. I'll have to post a pic once it's finished :)

Still cloth diapering
As I have written about before, Luke and I decided to cloth diaper Sean. It has proven to be a great diapering decision that we will continue to do for Sean, and will most likely do with any other little peanuts that come along (what!!!?? more babies-- crazy talk!). Anyway, while we have a great stash of bumGenius one size (yes these great diapers will last Sean from birth to potty training) and groBaby diapers, we are always interested in trying new types of diapers. However, cloth diapering is not just an environmental choice, it is also a financial choice. Meaning- I don't want to pay for more or different diapers at this point. Enter the cloth diaper give-away. Mamas and Papas, consider the cloth option. It may be gross at times (but really isn't the idea of plastic covered poop sitting in the landfill gross too?)but noting beats the cuteness of a little bum wrapped up in soft, absorbent, waterproof, bright colored diapers. Oh, except a bare bum- those are the cutest!

Apple Picking

Last weekend we went with Annmarie, Jason, Abby and Aaron to Carter Mountain Orchard to do some autumn apple picking. Ok, I also went to eat apple cider doughnuts! We met up with Luke's cousin Rob and his lady friend Victoria. Sean of course had a fabulous time. He got to wear a sun hat, taste his first fresh-off-the-tree apple, and met his cousin.

camping
Thank you Sarah for the pictures! Last weekend we took Sean on his first camping trip. Yes it was only one night, and yes it was only 10 minutes out of town, but. . .we slept in a tent, made smores on a fire and peed outside (well Sean pees inside, outside, in the bath. . .anywhere). That = camping. Sean had a great time. Not his best night of sleep, but by far not his worst either. He's an outdoors kind of guy at heart.

Busch Gardens

Luke took like a zillion pics of us at Busch Gardens. Unfortunately, most of them are terrible. They are awful in part because I talk through picture taking time, so I look a mess, and in part because Luke fancies himself quite the photographer and insists on using the manual setting on the camera instead of the fool proof automatic setting. Most of the pictures turn out too dark, too light, fuzzy, or otherwise unviewable. We did get a few good ones on the train, and some very amusing ones of Sean trying on a variety of hats in "New France". The carousel, boat ride, and experience with the Eurasian Hawk Owl were not good.
Activity Center

Sean loves his activity center. At first he just sat there, legs dangling, chewing on the seat cover. Then he discovered the spinning frog. He got very good at hitting that poor amphibian and spinning his something silly. Now he knows how to push the music buttons and move from activity to activity. I still can't tell if he does it intentionally, or he just kind of goes where the wind takes him. However, since I am his mother I obviously think he is very advanced and knows how to operate the activity center with ease and agility. Therefore, his movements are intentional. Also note his nose. He has his first cold. Gross.

End of Summer

Summer is ending, which means I'll be back at work soon and Sean will be starting day care (sniffle, sniffle, tear). Here are a few pictures of him enjoying his last care free days and nights of summer. He is just getting so big. His hair has (finally) grown in, he has stopped sucking on his lower lip (not he aggressively sucks on his hand), and he can lift his head nice and high. Oh, don't you just miss the days when accomplished meant lifting your head 90 degrees?
